The Georgia Code of 1861 required that militia regiments and battalions detailed for service outside of Georgia be provided with regimental colors "bearing the arms of the State." It also served as the de facto State flag until 1879. The color of the flag itself was not specified and alternated between navy blue and red. This 3'x5' flag is made of quality 100-D polyester and includes brass grommets and extra stitching on the fly-end for added durability.
