Designed by artist William Jarl Browne, the North Carolina Republic flag was adopted by the State convention on June 22, 1861 as the official State flag after its secession from the United States on May 20 of that same year. The flag was carried by several Southern regiments throughout the war. Made of quality printed 100-D polyester. Includes brass grommets and extra stitching on the fly-end for added durability.
